The candidate for Miss Universe 2017 of the Philippines is Miss Rachel Peters - a 26-year-old half-British entrepreneur and model. She advanced to the Miss Universe top 16 via wildcard but failed to reach the Universe top 5. The top 5 were candidates from Thailand, South Africa, Venezuela, Jamaica, and Colombia. The woman representing South Africa won the Miss Universe crown, Miss Colombia being the runner-up and Miss Jamaica being the second runner-up. Miss Universe candidate Rachel Peters extended her thanks to the people who supported her.
