Rachel Peters in Miss Universe 2017

The candidate for Miss Universe 2017 of the Philippines is Miss Rachel Peters - a 26-year-old half-British entrepreneur and model.

She advanced to the Miss Universe top 16 via wildcard but failed to reach the Universe top 5.

The top 5 were candidates from Thailand, South Africa, Venezuela, Jamaica, and Colombia. The woman representing South Africa won the Miss Universe crown, Miss Colombia being the runner-up and Miss Jamaica being the second runner-up.

Miss Universe candidate Rachel Peters extended her thanks to the people who supported her.

In her tweet she said, "I would like to thank all my fellow Filipinos who have supported me in this journey, my Kagandang Flores family especially Tito Rodgil Flores and above all to our  God almighty! Mabuhay ang Pilipinas! 🇵🇭 #MissUniverse #Philippines."
